About The Role
They're looking to appoint a Platform Engineer to join their Engineering team, helping drive platform reliability, cloud infrastructure, security and delivery across a modern AWS environment.
Responsibilities
- Building, maintaining and improving AWS-hosted platform infrastructure.
- Supporting Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives using tools such as Terraform and Serverless Framework.
- Driving automation and DevOps best practices across development and operations teams.
- Developing and improving CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Strengthening platform security, IAM controls and governance standards.
- Supporting cloud migration activity, infrastructure improvements and platform modernisation.
- Enhancing monitoring, logging, alerting and observability capabilities.
- Working closely with engineering, security and product teams to deliver platform improvements.
- Supporting API services, backend platform components and operational readiness activities.
- Contributing to platform reliability, scalability and long-term technical strategy.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience within a Platform Engineering, DevOps or Cloud Engineering role.
- Strong AWS experience, ideally across EC2, IAM, S3, CloudFront, Load Balancers and networking services.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Serverless Framework.
- Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, identity management and governance controls.
- Experience with monitoring, logging and operational support tooling.
- Exposure to distributed systems, APIs and cloud-native architectures.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, infrastructure and security teams.
- 3+ years of work experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- 3+ years of work experience with Cloud Platforms
- 3+ years of work experience with DevOps
Desirables
- Experience with Akamai, WAF technologies or edge security platforms.
- Experience with TypeScript, Python, Go or backend services development.
- Experience supporting cloud migrations, platform transformation projects or DNS cutovers.
- SIEM, compliance or security engineering exposure.
